“The Water Remembers”

This series considers midlife as a threshold, a time of reclaiming autonomy and gathering energy that has long been invested beyond the self.

I begin with vintage stamped linen tablecloths, originally sold as DIY embroidery kits with patterns printed in blue ink. I source pieces that are partially or fully embroidered, then “un-pick” the hand-stitched threads to reveal the original stamped design. Through the act of unpicking, I metaphorically disentangle inherited expectations and definitions of identity, creating space to encounter myself anew.

Aqueous washes of color and repetitive, meditative mark making anchors me in the present, transforming time and attention into a physical record of becoming.

The Estuary Paintings

The Estuary Paintings engage the tension between movement and stillness, offering a counterpoint to the accelerated conditions of contemporary life. Their quiet, atmospheric surfaces invite a slower mode of attention—one grounded in presence, perception, and the experience of looking.
